Lillian Anne York

Lillian Anne York, 89, of Sparta, IL; born on October 11, 1931 in McLeansboro, IL; passed away on June 20, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Lillian loved riding Harley motorcycles and going on long trips.  She liked to cook different things, reading novels, and and sewing.  She was an excellent seamstress.  Lillian retired from the Spartan Printing Company after working there for over 20 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family most of all.

She was preceded in death by her husband – John R York who passed away on August 22, 1993; parents – Lawrence and Ada (Howell) Womack; two sisters – Nancy Frey and Judy Kirkland; son-in-law – Bruce Pflasterer; sister-in-law – Peggy Birke.

Lillian is survived by four children – Linda Taylor of Sparta, IL, John (Tracy) York of Sparta, IL, Sue Pflasterer of Sparta, IL and Lawrence York of Sparta, IL; five grandchildren – Donald (Liz) Taylor, Tom (Eve) Pflasterer, Shauna Pflasterer, Gabe Taylor, and Mickie (James) Leonard; eight great grandchildren; three sisters – Janet (Victor) Knight of Dale, IL, Phyllis (Terry) Hunt of Dale, IL and Martha Dee McMahon of Mt. Vernon, IL; one brother – James Womack of McLeansboro, IL

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Visitation: Family and friends may gather at Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment: Committal services will take place at the Oddfellows Cemetery in McLeansboro, IL.

Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL is in charge of arrangements
