Wilbur Lee

Wilbur J.D. Lee, 84, of Marissa, IL; born June 17, 1927 in Pinckneyville, IL; passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mr. Lee was a coal miner. He was a member of Calvary Church in Sparta, IL. He was a member of the Marissa Masonic Lodge 881, Amaryllis Chapter 750 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Marissa Recreational Area. Mr. Lee was also an avid golfer.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Caroline, nee Margenthaler, Lee. His beloved wife Lucille, nee Keller, Lee. 1 brother – Herbert Lee.

He is survived by his children – Charles (Kathy) Lee of Overland, MO; Frank (Janis) Lee of Marissa, IL; Amy Lee of St. Charles, MO. 3 grandchildren – Whitney (Jim) Beasley; Courtney (Jason) Barrow; Sarah Shepard. 2 great-grandchildren – Hannah Barrow; Olivia Beasley. 1 brother – Ervin (Alma) Lee Jr. of Belleville, IL.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and at Calvary Church in Sparta, IL on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Funeral: Services will be held at Calvary Church in Sparta, IL on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00am with Pastor Tim McIntyre officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held at the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Calvary Church.

    together..sharing the fun and the frustrations of “THE GAME”. It always amazed me that after being neighbors ,we lost touch for awhile and then reconnected later. I share with you all the loss of a very special guy.
