Verda Norine Been, 91, of Tulsa, OK, born June 12, 1921 in Washington County, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. Verda retired as an accountant from American Airlines. She was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa, and a member and past officer of the local chapter of The American Business Women’s Association.

Verda was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland E. Been, her parents, Gustav and Ada E. Reuss, nee Mueller, her sister Odella Sparling, five brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law, 2 nephews, a niece and a step grandson Robert Jenkins.

She is survived by a son Rolland R. Been (Jeanne) of Tulsa, OK, a brother Raymond Reuss (Betty) of Palatine, IL, a brother-in-law Raymond Been (Ruth) of Mulvane, KS, a brother-in-law Joe Church of Belleville, IL, a granddaughter Rhonda Brown (Jimmy) of New Bern, NC, a step grandson John Jenkins (Sherry) of Wichita Falls, TX, a great granddaughter Christina Bishop of New Bern, NC, step great grandchildren Cody and Emily Jenkins of Wichita Falls, TX, nephews Roger Sparling, Jerry Reuss, Wally Morse, Chuck Slikis, Jimmy Been, Stephen Gregory, David Church, and William (Bill) Been and nieces Elaine Spacco, Shirley Reuss, Kim Mahar, Linda Morse, Suzanne Weaver, Carol Cronin, Dianne McPheeters, Pamela Redeker, Amy Black and Julie Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 5808 S. Sheridan Rd., Tulsa, OK 74145 or St. Francis Hospice, 6600 S. Yale Ave., Suite 350, Tulsa, OK 74136.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home, Marissa, IL. Burial will be in Marissa TWP. Cemetery, Marissa, IL
