Travis Smith

Travis George Smith, 81, of New Athens, IL; born April 2, 1931 in St. Louis, MO; passed away at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, IL.
Mr. Smith was a assembler for Chromecraft and also worked for the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors for many years. He was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 600. He was a former member of the Lions Club, Odd Fellows and Masonic Lodge. Travis loved working on cars and fishing in his free time.
He is survived by his wife Doris, nee Thomas, Smith whom he married on June 23, 1951 in Piggott, AR. 1 daughter – Karen (Greg) Rowley of Webster Groves, MO. 1 son – Michael (Cheryl) Smith of Edwardsville, IL. His grandchildren – Christina Rowley; Jennifer (John) Anderson; Lindsey Rowley; Victoria (Josh) Miller; Sara Smith. His great grandchildren – Jack Anderson; Anna Rowley; Adele Rowley.
Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 9:00am to 10:00am.
Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Tuesday, March 5. 2013 at 10:00am with Rev. Dr. Robert Koch officiating.
Interment: Burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.
