Thelma Hudson

Thelma Alberta, nee Cox, Hudson, 89 of Marissa, IL; born August 19, 1924 in Coulterville, IL; passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and sewing. Thelma was a people person and her door was always open. She loved to visit and cook for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Hallie and Mary, nee Sturdivant, Cox. Her husband Howard Hudson whom she married on April 12, 1946 in Pinckneyville, IL and who passed away on November 7, 2001. Also preceded in death by 2 brothers.

She is survived by her children – Howard “Buddy” Hudson of Marissa, IL; Larry (Rita) Taylor of Chicago, IL; Thelma (Jerry) Stadge of Tilden, IL; Paula (Dennis) Hill of Tilden, IL. 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. One sister – June Little of Tilden, IL.

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at the Marissa Township Cemetery on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10:30am with Rev. Wilbur Franklin officiating.
