Susan K. Peck

PECK

Susan Kathryn Peck, 86, of Carbondale, IL, formerly of Sparta, IL; born on April 7, 1937 in Holyoke, MA, the daughter of Timothy P. and Helen (Garvey) Sugrue; passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at home.

Susan married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Peck, on April 15, 1967 in Marissa, IL.  Together, they started a farm and learned what it was like to live a life of agriculture.  It was a tough life as a farmer with many obstacles to overcome.  As much as they enjoyed farming, it was not sustainable for Bob and Susan.  It didn’t matter what the next venture was as long as they were in it together, so they packed up and changed careers.  Susan had a heart of gold and was always a motherly figure to any guests.

She is survived by her husband – Robert “Bob” Peck; three children – David Peck, Deborah Berthold, and Alison (Jon) Kirk; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

It was her wish to be cremated and the family will have private services at a later date.

Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, Illinois is in charge of arrangements
