Mrs. Stella H. Muench, nee Dickey, 92, of Freeburg, IL, formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ella (Sinn) Dickey, her husband, Raymond Muench, whom she married on July 5, 1947 in Belleville, IL, and who passed away on November 6, 2002, her brother; Milton Dickey and her brother-in-law; Neil Woodward.
She is survived by her sister; Colleen Woodward of Columbia, IL; 4 nephews; Roy and James Dickey and Jerry and Joel Woodward. and by dear friends and relatives;
Memorials in Stella’s honor may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens or to Family Hospice of Belleville, IL
Visitation; Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL.
Funeral; Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL with Rev. John Lukomski officiating. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in New Athens. IL
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens is in charge of arrangements.

All these years and didn’t know she was a Columbia, IL native as well. Great neighbor, that tolerated a neighborhood of noisy/busy boys. Our wishes of comfort for the family, and I know Ray will be happy to see her again.
