Sharon K. Loyd, 81, of Sparta, IL; born on April 25, 1945 in Sparta, IL the daughter of Ernest Ardell and Wanda (née, Springs) Eaton; passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in Sparta, IL.

Sharon was a very sweet lady who would do anything and everything she could to help someone in need.  She enjoyed visiting with people, always talkative and smiling.  Sharon will be remembered for the love and compassion she showed to others with her infectious smile.

She is survived by two children – Ed (spouse, Betty) Loyd of Walsh, IL and Dena (spouse, Sam) Fortner of Sparta, IL; brother – Richard (spouse, Mary) Eaton; sister – Betty Farris; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; one son – Michael A. Loyd Sr.; one grandson – Michael A. Loyd Jr.; brother – Roland Eaton; sister – Carolynn Phillips.

The Visitation will be held at Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Private Committal Services will be held at a later date.
