Savannah Louise Gordon

Savannah Louise Gordon

GORDON

Savannah Louise Gordon, age 25, was born on September 18, 1998 in Nashville, TN; passed away from our midst on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Savannah grew up and was educated in Franklin, TN.  She was bright and talented in many ways, but remained humble and shy as she navigated through her short life.  She suffered with the painful and rare disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, in spite of which, she remained cheerful, kind and thoughtful to all around her.  Her beauty was beyond compare with dancing eyes that looked straight at you to let you know you counted.  She deeply loved the quietness of nature, animals, and her greatest enjoyment was music with its soaring spirit and forgiveness.  Savannah lives now in fullness surrounded by all that is good.

Savannah is survived by her father, Noah Gordon of Muscle Shoals, AL; mother, Leighanne (Patrick) O’Hearn of Fairview, TN; fiancé, Max Wilson of Nashville, TN; sister, Jacqueline (Brandon) Keim; brother, Trey Gordon of Muscle Shoals, AL; nieces, Ava and Clara Keim of Nashville, IL; grandparents, Gary (Roberta) Gordon of Sparta, IL; uncle, Michael Pethel of Marina del Rey, CA; three great uncles, Gene Lunnemann, Veneta, OR, Brooks (JoNita) Gordon of Sparta, IL, and Greg (Connie) Gordon of Edwardsville, IL; beloved cousins, Trevor Gordon of Sparta, IL, Austin (Logan) Weshinskey of Edwardsville, IL and Landis (Kaia) Gordon of Denver, CO.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Louise Pethel.

Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.heilschuessler.com.

Memorial Contributions may be made to “Savannah’s Songs” and mailed to Roberta Gordon, 810 South St. Louis St., Sparta, IL 62286.  This is a newly formed nonprofit supporting a free music program for the Steeleville, IL school system.

The family will be holding private services at a later date.

Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL is in charge of arrangements.

I had the pleasure of meeting Savannah at a dinner with friends on the evening of the CMA Awards in Nashville in November of 2023. After the dinner, we sat together to enjoy the awards. I was so impressed with her and really looked forward to keeping in contact with her. Savannah was taken from this world much too early. I hope there’s a special place in Heaven for such a beautiful soul.

There are no words. What a beautiful tribute for Savannah. I have lived in Florida since 1990, but I was born in Perry County and resided in Randolph County for ten years after I married. I’m at the age of checking different sources for acquaintances that have passed. Steve Schuessler, Bill Norton, and Gary Benedict are three of my best buddies. I am honored to be able to support “Savannah’s Songs”! My check will be in the mail tomorrow. May the promises of Christ Jesus bring a bit of comfort to all friends and family.
