Ruth L. Reichert

Mrs. Ruth L. Reichert, 95, of Rockwood, IL, formerly of Lenzburg, IL, born April 18, 1928, in Lenzburg, IL, passed away on Saturday November 4, 2023, at 3 Springs Lodge in Chester, IL.  Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL.  She loved crossword and Sudoku puzzles, reading and spoiling her grandchildren.

Mrs. Reichert was preceded in death by her parents – Herman and Ella (Haefner) Fredeking and her beloved husband – Marvin E. Reichert, whom she married on October 26, 1947, in Darmstadt, IL and who preceded her in death on June 7, 1993.

Ruth is survived by her daughter – Lisa (David) Shemonic of Rockwood, IL, her grandson – Kelly (Lynsey) Sparrow and 3 great grandchildren – Anna, Kaden and Lana Sparrow.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday November 9, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL.

Funeral: Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday November 9, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL with Rev. Lyle Buettner officiating, Interment will follow at St. Peter UCC Cemetery in Lenzburg, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
