Russell A. Stevenson

Russell Andrew Stevenson, 53, of Marissa, IL, born January 19, 1970, in Sparta, IL, passed away on Saturday June 10, 2023, at his residence. He was a good friend to many and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Russell is survived by his parents – Dennis L. and Susan J. (Harris) Stevenson and his son – Hunter Stevenson all of Sparta, IL and also by three brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Randolph County Humane Society.

Visitation: Public visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday June 23, 2023, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL.

Memorial service: A public memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday June 23, 2023, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL.

Private family committal services will follow.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

    My prayers uplifted for the Stevenson family and sympathies extended also. During the years I grew up in Marissa in the late 1960s through the 1970s, we were neighbors of Russell, his brothers and his parents whom I still consider good friends to this day. Babysat Russell and his brothers many times as well as hanging out at the house. His close-in-age uncle Jimmy who also passed away only a couple weeks ago came often as well and it’d be a blast. Mom Susie was like a big sister who also has a great sense of humor. So the family is special to us.
