My mom was the most special woman in the world. If anyone had something to worry about, give it to Rosie and she would do the worrying for you. She loved people and she loved all of her family. She enjoyed having the Yellow Rose, and loved the people who visited. When it felt more like work than fun she sold the tavern. She had alot of wonderfull memories. It is very hard for me to think I won’t talk to her every day now, but I know she’s with dad and together they are frying fish and making potatoe salad. (both kinds of course, cause one wasn’t never enough.)
    Until we are together again.
    Forever always,
    Deb

….what a very special woman. I am so fortunate to have met & spent time with her. No such thing as a short visit or phone call, because we always found plenty talk about. And I loved every minute.

A friend, but more like family. I will always have a special place in my heart just for ROSIE! I loved her dearly, and will miss her each day. But I know she’s with those who have gone on…Jim, Granny & Georgia.

(Rest In Peace Rosie, Love ya)

To Deb & family, & Jim & family: I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. Although she was more than a mom to just you, she mothered everyone.
I learned so much from her while working at The Yellow Rose. Rosie was
one of the most kind, generous, patient, understanding & lovable people
I knew. She loved her family always talking abou them. New Athens has
lost it’s “Yellow Rose”, heaven has gained a true angel.

Sadly, We have lost a wonderful Lady.
Before the Yellow Rose, I am reminded of the good times helping out at the sawmill, and on the farms. After my marriage, it was comforting to know my family was always welcome at the Rose.Quite often, Sandy recounts the happy times she had working for Rosie.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all
