Ronald Ray Ramsey
December 31, 1967 – August 25, 2026
Ronald Ray Ramsey, beloved uncle, brother, son, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 58.
Ronald was a one of a kind person who touched the lives of many people around him. He had a unique personality, a big heart, and was always willing to help anyone who needed him.
Ronnie loved the Sparta Country Club. It was his home, and he took great pride in looking after it and the people who called it home alongside him. He watched over the grounds and was always busy helping wherever he could. He would do anything for his neighbors and if someone needed something, Ronnie was there before they even had to ask.
After retiring, he found joy in helping wherever he could. Whether something needed to be fixed, cleaned, organized, or simply someone needed a hand, Ronnie was always willing to help.
There aren’t enough words to describe everything Ronnie did around the Country Club. It will take a crew of people to cover even half of the things he did himself. He took care of the little things that many people never noticed, always making sure things were taken care of and helping wherever he was needed.
Ronald’s family was not defined only by blood. Some of the most important people in his life were the friends who became family to him. These were the people who stood beside him, loved him, and cared for him, especially during his final days.
He leaves behind his nephew, Ryan Ramsey, and Ryan’s wife, Mikayla Ramsey; his father, Ray Ramsey; his sisters, Angela Ramsey and Amanda Kirby; and his brother, Randal Ramsey.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Kirby.
He will also be deeply missed by his chosen family and closest friends, including Klay & Julie Tiemann, Jan & Bill Southworth, Janice & Carlos Barbour and Jack & Bertha Becker. They were there for Ronnie throughout his hospice journey, surrounding him with love, comfort, and care when he needed it most.
Ronald will forever be remembered at the Sparta Country Club, by the neighbors he looked after, the friends who became family, and by everyone whose life he touched.
It will be hard to look around the Country Club and not think of Ronnie. His presence, his hard work, and all the things he quietly did for others will be missed more than words can say.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sparta Country Club on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL is assisting the family with arrangements

I’m very sad about his passing!! Ronnie was always nice to me. Shunned by family members. He was better than any of them. He was a true friend.

“Lisa”, those who truly knew Ronnie and walked through life with him know the peace and reconciliation his immediate family shared at the end. Out of respect for his memory, we ask this public space be reserved for genuine condolences rather than misinformation.

I grew up with Ronnie. He was in my late brother Dan’s class. Though I only knew Ronnie as a kid, he was always the nicest person and interesting. I am so sorry he is gone.
