Ronald D. Darin, Sr., 67, of Lenzburg, IL, born September 29, 1948 in Centralia, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Highland Healthcare Center In Highland, IL. Mr. Darin was a retired coal miner who loved to hunt and fish. He also honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and also a life member of VFW Post 7710 in New Athens, IL. Ronald’s family always came first. He will be loved and missed.
Preceding him in death are his parents; Corinno and Anna Leeta (Mordini) Darin, and his father-in-law; Clarence Rohwedder.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 45 years; Jill (Rohwedder) Darin, son; Ron (Daura) Darin,Jr.,daughter; Christy (Bill Clark) Darin, sisters; Ann (Gary) Toedte and Jan (Jim) Butler, grandchildren; Daniel and Carinne Darin and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made as mass offerings to St. Agatha Catholic Church or to the VFW Post 7710 Ladies’ Auxiliary in New Athens.
Visitation: Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL
Funeral: Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL with Fr. David Darin officiating. In keeping with Mr. Darin’s wishes, cremation will follow services with a private burial held at a later date.
