Ronald D. Andres

Ronald Dean Andres, 70, of New Athens, IL, born August 27, 1953, in Belleville, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.  He was a stove assembler at Peerless-Premier in Belleville, IL.  Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family at the clubhouse.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents – Dean and Doris (Martin) Andres and one sister – Kathy “Susie” Andres.

Surviving him are his two children – Ryan (Amanda) Andres of Smithton, IL, and Carly (Jesse) Petri of New Athens, IL, two sisters – Nancy (Guy) Kasper and Cheryl Gerlach, three grandchildren – Brooke Andres, Harper Petri and Caroline Andres, one niece – Kelli (Josh) Shoulders, three nephews – Kevin Andres, Joseph Andres and Andrew (Katie) Kasper and great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, cremation is to take place with no public visitation or services.  Private family services will take place at a later date.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.

    Growing up, I spent many a day with Ron sitting in a boat fishing, tramping through woods seeking big game, playing wiffle ball, shooting baskets, or playing hockey in my basement. We had many good times together. My sincere condolences to Nancy, Cheryl, Ryan, and Carly.
