Rodney Eugene Corder, 70, of New Athens, IL; born June 7, 1943 in Herrin, IL; passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Rodney retired after 30 years as a foreman with the Illinois Department of Transportation. He loved all dogs and would never turn away a stray. Rodney enjoyed life, especially listening to country music, being outdoors, barbequing and socializing and having fun with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara. 1 brother – George Bencie, Jr. 1 step-daughter – Brenda Dingledine.
He is survived by his children – Tammy (Roger) McMahan of Lacon, IL; Todd Corder of Pekin, IL. His step-children – Marvetta Hawk of Florida; Marvin (Connie) Vogt of New Athens, IL; Wanda (Jeff) Lehr of New Athens, IL. His grandchildren – Bryndy Sheets of Spring Bay, IL; Bryan (Amy) Kuhlman of Lacon, IL. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
In accordance with Mr. Corder’s wishes no services are tol be held.
