Robert L. Shipp, 65, of New Athens, IL was born on April 1, 1961 in Toronto, Italy and passed away on August 24, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

Mr. Shipp worked as a security guard.  Robert enjoyed spending time at the Bullpen Bar and Grill.  He liked to play card and used to enjoy hunting.  Robert was a good cook and liked trying new recipes for his family.  He also enjoyed making Halloween costumes and playing games with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father – Philip Shipp.

He is survived by his two daughters – Brianna (Nick) Wilson of Marissa, IL; Brooke Shipp of New Athens, IL.  Grandchildren – Kyra, Ryder, Pyper, Rylee.  His mother – Charlotte Shipp.  Two sisters – Rita Wiggins of New Athens, IL; Brenda Roddy of New Athens.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 4:00pm.

A celebration of life will immediately follow the memorial service at the Bull Pen Bar and Grill in New Athens, IL.
