Orville Bush

Orville Patrick Bush, 86, of Cahokia, IL; born on September 17, 1930 in Sparta, IL; passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL.

Mr. Bush was a retired switchman for Illinois Central Railroad. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was very active with St. John Community Day Care. Pat was an avid collector of Indian rocks. He was also very devoted to the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Orville and Olga, nee Frazer, Bush. His wife Lucia May, nee Gordon, Bush who passed away on December 6, 2012. 1 infant daughter – Patsy Bush. Five brothers – Marshall Bush; Homer Bush; Samuel Bush; James Bush; Michael Bush. Three sisters – Lucille Jockenhoefer; Lois Bush; Della Paul.

He is survived by six sons – Michael (Nina) Bush of Harrisburg, PA; Mark (Leeann) Bush of Belleville, IL; Stephen Bush of Everett, WA; Gregory Bush of Chester, IL; Paul Bush of East St. Louis, IL; Vincent (Diane) Bush of East St. Louis, IL. One brother – Paul Bush. Seven sisters – Olga Walker; Anna Davis; Marjorie Bradberry; Sharon Torres; Mary Ann Becker; Nancy Waldren; Joan Sims. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friend and caretaker – Justin Martin.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Funeral: A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Agatha Catholic Church in New Athens, IL on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father James Nall officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery in New Athens, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
