Teet was my mother’s first friend when we moved to Marissa in 1949. She helped us when my dad was in the hospital by caring for me,a toddler. She helped us to acquaint ourselves with Marissa and it’s citizens. Our sincerest sympathy to Gayle and Dennis and the rest of her family. We never knew anyone with so much energy

My grandparents Les and Helen lived behind Teet. I remember her fondly from my childhood. She was always out in her yard. We always went trick or treating there also. She was such a lovely person. Always friendly , my grandma really thought a lot of her. My family and I are sorry for your loss and we know this lady will be greatly missed.

Oleta and Gene were long time family friends and almost like relatives. My grandfather was the minister at the First United Methodist Church in Marissa and married Oleta and Gene. Since that time, they were very close to our family. In fact, the cradle built by my great-grandfather was in possession of Oleta and Gene and Oleta gave us the cradle for the birth of our 2nd child over 32 years ago. That same cradle was refurbished again almost 3

She was known to me as “Grandma Teet” even tho I was no relation to her. We lived a few houses down from her as kids and when I took a walk with my mom or Grandma it was always a treat for us to stop and talk to her when she was outside. What a sweet lady! So sorry for your loss. Prayer to the entire family.
