Mildred Elizabeth, nee Napier, Stallmann, 91, of New Athens, IL, was born on November 8, 1922 in Central City, IL; passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.
Mrs. Stallman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where she served with the Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Golden Agers and Broad Hollow Grange. She was a past Cub Scout and 4-H leader. Mildred was a well known and talented seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening and crafts of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Ike and Elizabeth, nee Zick, Napier. Her husband Edgar Stallman Sr. whom she married on September 4, 1943 and who passed away on June 16, 2004. 1 brother and 1 sister.
She is survived by her children – Larry (Doris) Stallmann of Arkansas; Edgar (Sharon) Stallmann, Jr. of Millstadt, IL; Judy (Milton) Smith of Flora, IL. 9 grandchildren – Stacey Korves; Carey Good; Matthew Stallmann; Lisa Stallmann; Dale Stallmann; Dean Stallmann; Milton Smith; Mindy Smith; Joy McAllister. 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. 1 sister-in-law – Motzie Napier of New Athens, IL. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made St. John UCC; Concordia UCC; Freeburg Care Center or Family Hospice.
Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 5 – 8 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 9: – 10 a.m.. A Women’s Guild ritual will be held at 6 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral: Services will be held at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert Koch and Rev. David Krueger officiating.Entombment will be held at Valhalla Gardens Mausoleum in Belleville, IL.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
