Mildred Bald

Mildred I., nee Schatte, Bald, 93, of Lenzburg, IL; born on May 24, 1921 in Campbell Hill, IL; passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, IL.

Mrs. Bald was a farmer. She was a member of St Peter United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, IL. She was a lifelong member of the Progressive Grange and was a 4-H leader for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Charles and Amanda, nee Hartel, Schatte. Her husband – Albert H. Bald whom she married on September 14, 1940 in Marissa, IL and who passed away on April 10, 2009. Two brothers – Wilbert Schatte; Walter Schatte. One sister – Arlu Murray.

She is survived by one son – Kenneth (Janice Sue) Bald of Freeburg, IL. One daughter – Sharon (Charles) Guebert of Red Bud, IL. Five grandchildren – Brian (Diane) Guebert of Red Bud, IL; Curtis (Gina) Guebert of Red Bud, IL; Pamela (Matthew) Schrader of Waterloo; Jeffrey (Amy) Bald of Swansea, IL; Michelle (Steve) O’Leary of Mascoutah, IL. Thirteen great-grandchildren – Evan Guebert; Connor Guebert; Nicholas Guebert; Caleb Guebert; Max Schrader; Ross Schrader; Ian Schrader; Matthew Bald; Christopher Bald; Gwendolyn Bald; Tylor O’Leary; Aiden O’Leary; Erin O’Leary. One sister-in-law – Jean Bald of Granite City, IL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St Peter United Church of Christ; Christ of Savior Lutheran Church or St John Lutheran Church Expansion Fund.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and at St Peter United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, IL on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Funeral: Services will be held at St Peter United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, IL on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:00am with Rev. Howard Thomure officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held St Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lenzburg, IL
