Michael Raban

Michael Lee Raban, 61, of Marissa, IL; born on April 3, 1958 in Belleville, IL; passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at his home.

Michael was the custodian at the Mascoutah High School for 20 years. He was a mechanic and the owner and operator of Ken’s Transmission in Belleville, IL. Mike enjoyed hunting, spending time in his pool and he liked spending time in the outdoors with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife – Debra Ann, nee Weissenbach, Raban. His children – Justin (Polina Arrington – Fiance) Raban of Marissa, IL; Charles (Taryn) Raban of Marissa, IL; Kenneth Raban of Marissa, IL. His grandchildren – Natalyn Raban; Ariah Raban; Alexandria Raban. His father – Charles Raban of Marissa, IL. His mother – Vaunda, nee Taylor, Raban of Marissa, IL. One sister – Rhonda (Brendan) Raban of Charlottesville, VA.

Close friends and family may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

A gathering and celebration of Michael’s life will be held at the Pour House Bar and Grill located at
754 State Route 13 in Marissa, IL on Saturday, February 22, 2020 beginning at 1:00pm.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

    I am so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I have so many fond memories of him while growing up, he was another one of those guys that was always looking out for “Seib’s little sister” and as frustrated as I was back in the day, I truly appreciate it now. Such a great person and always smiling, Mike will be hugely missed by all. RIP Mike and my deepest and sincere sympathy to the Raban family.
