Marjorie Ann, nee Ahlers, Green, 78, of Marissa, IL; born on December 14, 1940 in Marissa, IL; passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Red Bud Regional Care Center in Red Bud, IL.

Mrs. Green was a retired beautician and the former manager of the White Lantern Restaurant.  She was a member of the Tilden Presbyterian Church where she also served as a deacon.  Margie loved to travel, read books and cook.  She belonged to the Red Hat Society.  Most of all, Margie was a sweet and kindhearted person who would always help anyone in need and just really loved people and especially loved taking care of children, who she always treated as her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Edward W. and Ellen, nee Sheridan, Powers.  One brother – Edward Dean Powers.

She is survived by her step-daughter – Allison (Ronnie) Sullivan of Cutler, IL  Her grandchildren – Ryan (Andrea) Gerlach of Murphysboro, IL; Caleb (Autumn) Gerlach of Princeton, IN.  Her great-grandchildren – Nora Gerlach; Ivy Gerlach; Arlo Gerlach; Harper Gerlach; Elton Gerlach.  Her sisters – Delores (Bud) Knope of Coulterville, IL; Judy (Charlie) Schaeffer of Marissa, IL; Joan Voges of Marissa, IL; Cindy (Roger) Geralds of Marissa, IL.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Tilden Presbyterian Church.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Tilden Presbyterian Church in Tilden, IL on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Funeral: Services will be held at Tilden Presbyterian Church in Tilden, IL on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00am with Rev. Dennis Hamilton officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.
