Marilyn was one of my absolute favorite people. When I first moved to Sparta, she made me feel very welcome and she always made me laugh; she was a joy to be around! Prayers to Andrea and Cheryl to find peace and for the holes in their hearts to heal. I am sorry I was not able to attend the services for your mom – I did not learn about them until it was too late.

  2. Claudia Kerens says:

Marilyn was a wonderful instructor who helped many a student through the vagaries of Algebra. I will miss knowing that Marilyn’s sparkling blue eyes will no longer display the joy she brought to life especially through her daughters and their accomplishments. Sincere sympathies are offered to you, Andrea and Cheryl, as well s to her granddaughters and siblings. Prayers for you and yours.

    Larry and Family,
Our most sincere condolences. Though neither of us had Marilyn as a teacher, we both knew her. She was beautiful on the inside, as well as outward appearances. Our wishes for peace and healing, may she rest in His grace.

    • Margaret Epplin says:

From mud pies to sleepovers to driving around Perry County, Marilyn was a fun nonjudgmental cousin and friend. (Aunt Ina always said Marilyn looked like Grandma Epplin.) I will miss sharing a final goodbye with the family. As we sang in St Bruno School “To Paradise now may the angels lead you.” See you on the flip side my friend.

  5. Patti Henderson says:

My heart breaks for you, Andrea & Cheryl. Your mom was the friend you might not see for years and then picked right back up where you left off. She always stood in the gap, whether it was tutoring other teachers’ students after school, volunteering to coach the SHS swim team so our girls could swim at State, letting kids hang out at the cottage, or sending home puppy chow with Courtney because his own mom didn’t make it. Harry & I send our love and sympathy to you and your family.
