Lynne Ann Vancil

VANCIL
Lynne Ann (Dahlem) Vancil, 69, of Sparta, IL; born August 12, 1954 in Red Bud, IL, the daughter of William Dahlem and Hattie Jean (Gordon) Blind; passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Lynne rejoiced in the Lord’s work while serving many years as a deacon and member of Lydia’s Circle at Trinity. Being a philanthropist was second nature as it was always in her heart to help others. While she loved reading, studying history, shopping, and dining out, her favorite hobby was traveling. Above all else, Lynne treasured time spent with her family. Her girls and grandkids were her greatest gifts in life. She was more than a mom and mama; she was a best friend, caregiver, teacher, mentor, and most trusted confidant. She rarely missed an event and kept the best inclusive calendar for everyone in the family. Lynne and Larry were more than husband and wife; they were the best of friends.
She is survived by her loving husband – Larry Vancil of Sparta, IL to whom she married September 11, 1976 in Sparta, IL; two daughters – Rebecca (significant other, Roger Stine) Hood of Sparta, IL and Elizabeth (Eric) Montroy of Sparta, IL; four grandchildren – Olivia Hood of Lake Forest Park, WA, Drew, Henry, and Hayden Montroy all of Sparta, IL; two brothers – John (Pam) Dahlem of Waterloo, IL and Bruce (Mary) Dahlem of Sparta, IL; mother-in-law – Wanda Vancil of Sparta, IL; two brothers-in-law – Denver (Pat) Vancil and Randy (Pam) Vancil; sister-in-law – Donna (Jack) Ayers; four grandchildren in love – Jenalee (David) Capperino of Spokane, WA, Hannah, Aidan, and Andru Stine all of Sparta, IL; a host of nieces and nephews.
Lynne was preceded in death by her mother – Hattie Jean (Gordon) Blind; father – William Dahlem; step father – Russell Blind; father-in-law – Varlan Vancil; step brother – Russel Blind.
Condolences may be left online for the family at www.heilschuessler.com.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Deacons or Maple Creek Hospice.
The Memorial Visitation will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Private Graveside Services will be held in Union Cemetery at a later date.

Besides being school friends, me a year older than Lynne, l have thought of her often throughout life, because we bought a cocker spaniel puppy from her & Larry many years ago. That dog was my soul mate dog, one of many pets we’ve had, but Meg was special, as was her first “human mom,” Lynne.
You have our heartfelt condolences…may the peace of the Holy Spirit bring comfort as you each deal with loss. In Jesus’ name, amen. -

I am so sorry for the loss of this wonderful lady! She was a warrior! I’ve known Lynne since we were little! She was a gentle, kind soul! I’m so glad I was able to see her and catch up at our High School reunion. May she rest in peace and in the arms of Jesus.
