Lowell Jackson Lloyd, 90, Sparta, IL, born August 11, 1929 in Sparta, IL, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL.  Mr. Lloyd worked at Scott Air Force Base for 35 years as a budget analyst and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sparta, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; John Hopskins and Roxie (Atkins) Lloyd, 2 brothers; Harold Eugene Lloyd and Allan Leroy Lloyd, 2 sisters; his twin sister- Lola Mae Lloyd, and Vivian Louise Lloyd.

Lowell is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 72 years; Helen T. (Wilkerson) Lloyd of Sparta, IL whom he married on March 27, 1948 in Sparta, IL, 1 daughter; Pamela (Darrel) Bird of Sparta, IL, 1 sister; Norma Gale Jeffers of Steeleville, IL, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Sparta, IL.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Sparta, IL with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating.

Interment will follow at Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

    To Aunt Helen, Pam and Aunt Normal and families, We were so saddened to learn of Uncle Lowell’s passing. We are unable to be there but didn’t want you to think we didn’t care. I have many, many fond memories of Uncle Lowell and will always remember his sweet smile, kind heart and that big laugh. He always made me feel loved.
