Lois Habermann

Lois Imogene, nee Deppe, Habermann, 90, of Freeburg, IL; born on February 8, 1927 in Percy, IL; passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. Mrs. Habermann was the laundry manager at the Freeburg Care Center. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Lois was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers and vegetables.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Henry and Gertrude, nee Snider, Deppe. Her husband – Clarence Habermann whom she married on August 27, 1946 and who passed away on December 14, 2009. One daughter – Donna Weatherford. One son-in-law – Bob Hargrove. One brother-in-law – Earl Sternberg and 1 grandson – Christopher Lee Key.

Lois is survived by her children – Robert (Elaine) Habermann of Warner Robbins, GA; Rudy (Carol) Habermann of Simpsonville, SC; Gail Hargrove of Freeburg, IL; Janet (Jeff) Kenney of Freeburg, IL; Roger (Christi) Habermann of Sturgis, SD. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two sisters – Vera Sternberg of Steeleville, IL; Lola Mae (Roy) Fischer of Vandalia, MO.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to Family Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m..

Funeral: Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Lukomski officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in the Percy Village Cemetery in Percy, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
