Lisa Ann Alvarado, nee Kirkpatrick, 61, of Grandby, MO, formerly of New Athens, IL, born December 13, 1962, in Red Bud, IL, passed away on Saturday March 23,2024 at the Freeman Health Center in Joplin, MO. She had been a truck driver.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother – Virginia D. (Koch) Kirkpatrick, two brothers – Timothy Kirkpatrick and Craig Kirkpatrick, who died in infancy, a niece – April Strum and her dear companion – Bill Sparlin.

Surviving her are her father – Conrad (Brenda) Kirkpatrick of Gloucester, VA, one daughter – Sunny Nichole Hoffarth of Mt. Vernon, IL, one son – Monte Leon Alvarado of Austin, TX, four sisters – Cheryl (Keith) Walker of St. Peters, MO, Cinretta Kirkpatrick of Mt. Vernon, IL, Cathy (Ken) Reinheimer of Freeburg, IL and Pamela (Lou) Harris of Hampton, VA, one sister-in-law Sandy Kirkpatrick of O’Fallon, IL, six grandchildren – Michael Hart, Raymond Parks, Sam Parks, Waylon Parks, Roxanne Alvarado and Zane Alvarado, two nieces – Dixie Lee Harris and Abagail Harris, two nephews – Jason Walker and Chuck Walker, an uncle – Steve (Nora) Koch, seven gr. nieces and nephews, and  beloved dog – Blackie.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Per Lisa’s wishes, cremation is to take place with no visitation hours.

Funeral: A celebration of Lisa’s life is being planned.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
