Larry W. Stammer, Sr., 80, of New Athens, IL, born in Belleville, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 18, 2012.
Mr. Stammer was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Florence, nee Krauss, Stammer.

Stammer, Jr., Grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Claudia, James, and Stella Stammer, and Kevin M (Hiedi) Stammer; Great Grandchildren, Chelsea and Jakob Stammer; Sisters, Audrey Joffray and Gloria (Eddie) Wolf; and Brother, Terry (Loretta) Stammer; also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends.
Larry was a 61-year member of Local 101 Plumbers & Pipefitters. He enjoyed staying busy in his “retirement” by helping those in need, loved to go fishing, and always had a garden. Larry was an excellent cook, and his many talents will be sorely missed. He could do anything, and was a master of all. His integrity and good character was unmatched.
Memorials are encouraged to be made to a Hospice organization of the donor’s choosing.
According to Larry’s wishes, there was a cremation, and no service was to be held.
I remember Larry from his days at Illinois Power Co. He was a fine man and an excellent employee. Always had a smile for you.

I have so missed being close to you guys over the years. I still cherish our times sitting around the table visiting, eating, playing games and just being together. I’m going to have to find the picture of Barb and me sitting on Larry’s lap we took on one of those fun weekends. I know he is sorely missed. My love and prayers to all of you in this difficult time.
