Larry Ray Craig, 82, of Sparta, IL; born on August 15, 1940 in Tilden, IL the son of Robert J. and Helen M. (Hamilton) Craig; passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at home.

Larry was a coal miner for 24 years before retiring.  He was a member of Tilden Presbyterian Church.  Larry enjoyed golfing at White Oak Golf Course when he lived there with his wife, Carol.  As much as he enjoyed golfing, Larry was known for being an excellent bowler.  He loved the company of his family and pet cats.

Larry is survived by his loving wife – Carol Lee (Kunze) Craig of Sparta, IL to whom he married December 28, 1974 at White Oak Golf Course in Marissa, IL; daughter – Kelly Lee (Robert “Scott”) Lindberg of Smithfield, VA; three grandsons – Nathan, Ryan and Alex Lindberg; one brother – Gary (Becky) Craig of Sparta, IL; one sister-in-law – Esther Craig of Sparta, IL; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Dean Craig.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Tilden Presbyterian Church.

The Visitation will be held at the Tilden Presbyterian Church on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dennis Hamilton officiating. Interment will take place at Marissa Township Cemetery.
