Juanita Marie, nee Watson, Doolittle, 68, of Marissa, IL; born December 3, 1945 in St. Louis, MO; passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Mrs. Doolittle was a supervisor with Union Pacific Railroad. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marissa, IL. Juanita was a loving grandma and enjoyed every moment she spent with her granddaughters.
Juanita was a fun loving, caring, and kind hearted woman. Her joy in the Lord and joy in life infected others through her wonderful smile, contagious laugh, sense of humor, optimism, and especially the love for her whole family. Juanita loved when the family gathered and stories and pictures and videos were shared. She loved taking pictures and capturing moments. She also enjoyed pampering and primping, always looking forward to her nails and hair being done. And Shopping! Oh, how she loved to shop!
Moving to St. Louis in the Sixties, making so many lifelong friends, getting married and starting her own family while working were big strides. However, she always loved heading back to Marissa on weekends, because that was “home”.
But now Juanita has made a different journey “home”. Not to Marissa, but to Heaven. And the family reunion she has in store for her there is beyond words. Her trust in the Lord, and the cornerstones of Faith, Hope, and Love were the foundations of her life. Heaven is richer for gaining the laugh, smile, life, love and joy that Juanita gave us for 68 years.
So, remember Juanita with a smile and a laugh. She wouldn’t want it any other way.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Winford and Marie, nee Heiserer, Watson.
She is survived by her husband Harry Doolittle Jr. Two sons – Harry (DeAnn) Doolittle III of Belleville, IL. Jimmy Doolittle of Marissa, IL. Today I was thinking of Juanita and thought I would try to locate her. Instead I found this obituary. When I worked at Boatmen’s in St. Louis as a temporary worker many years ago, she was my supervisor. She always looked out for me and was always there for me when I needed her even though it was for only a short time.
