John Gross, Jr.

John Gross, Jr, 88, of New Athens, IL, born September 20, 1934, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to the late John and Emma (Bay) Gross, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side.  He was a retired truck driver and a United States Army veteran.

Mr. Gross was also preceded in death by one son – Timmy Gross and his daughter – Debbie Gross and his two brothers – Gerry and Bob Gross.

John is survived by his loving wife – the former Yvonne “Bonnie” Wilson, whom he married in E. St. Louis, IL on October 12, 1957, two sons – Johnny (Julie) Gross and Ricky (Tina) Gross, four grandchildren – Tabitha (Jim) Lanham, Michelle (Tommy Vice) Gross, Jason Patton, Missy (Eric Lepes) Gross, thirteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren with one more who will be arriving soon.

Memorials in John’s honor may be made to the Parkinson’s Association.

No formal visitation hours are being scheduled.

Private services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
