John E. Lloyd, Jr.

John E. Lloyd Jr., 57 years of age, passed on Friday, October 13, 2023. John was born February 1, 1966, in Sparta to the late John and Margaret (Little) Lloyd. He was the second of three children. John was married in 2010 to Elizabeth and together they shared three children, Joseph, Benjamin, and Shelby. John was a loving husband and father. He was a skilled carpenter that worked in the Marissa area. He was known for his hard work and willingness to help anyone. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, a good game of pinochle, and spending time with his family. He was quick witted with a great sense of humor. John had the greatest smile and the best laugh, to know him was to love him.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Lloyd; children: Joe Hatley, Benjamin Hatley, and Shelby Lloyd; siblings: Linda (David) Lea and Anthony (Leah) Lloyd; sister in law: Jessica (Jason) Cluck; nieces and nephews: Robin (Dustin) McClintock, Stephanie Lea, D.J. Lea, Alejandra Lloyd, Carter Cluck; great nieces and nephews: Daycee, Remee, Dustee, Rubee, and Davey McClintock, Roguen Jackson, Winry and Austen Lea; lifelong friend: Joey Ruester.
Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Thursday, October 19th from 3 to 5 pm, funeral services will follow. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shelby Lloyd’s College Fund at the 1st Bank of Waterloo in Marissa, IL.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.
