Joan Lannom

Joan Juanita, nee Prairie, Lannom, 82, of New Athens, IL; born on December 22, 1932 in Momence, IL; passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL. Mrs. Lannom was a homemaker. She was also a cook for many years at various New Athens restaurants. She was an avid motorcycle racing fan. Joan greatly loved her grandkids and enjoyed watching them participate in ball and other activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Jesse and Alphonsine, nee Purkey, Prairie; Her husband Howard Lannom, whom she married on September 10, 1955 in Momence, IL and who passed away on August 12, 1980. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her children – Terry (Cindy) Lannom of Chester, IL; Theresa Antonellis of New Athens, IL; Todd (Lisa) Lannom of New Athens, IL. Her grandchildren – Sam Lannom; Drew Antonellis; Stephen Lannom; Tucker Lannom. Two sisters – June Ford of Momence, IL; Kathryn Bennett of Kankakee, IL. Two sisters-in-law – Betty Mayer of Marion, IL; Teddi Lannom of New Athens, IL.

Memorials may be made to Family Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10:00am with Pastor Dale Weber officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in Oakridge Cemetery in New Athens, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens is in charge of arrangements.
