Helen Wright

Helen L., nee Gegel, Wright, 76, of Belleville, IL, born September 20, 1939 in Marissa, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at her residence. She had been a school bus driver for area schools for the past 22 years. She had also attended First Baptist Church in Marissa, IL

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur H. and Edna C., nee Marler, Gegel, her husband; Clifford William Wright, her son; Chris Lee Wright, 1 brother Arthur “Fred” Gegel, a niece; Laura Ann Gegel and her sister-in-law; Nancy Gegel.

Helen is survived by her brother; Brian and Barbara, nee Trappe, Gegel, nephews; Brian T. Gegel, Colin Gegel, Dana Gegel and Arthur Tyrone “Ty” Gegel, and nieces; Nicole Brauer, Teressa Tveit and Jennifer Newgent.

Memorials: May be made to the Salvation Army.

Visitation: No visitation times are scheduled.

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Marissa TWP. Cemetery in Marissa, IL

    Just saw the notice of Helen’s passing in the Belleville paper and looked up the obituary on the web site. Sorry that we haven’t stayed in contact more and that she passed away. As young children we spent time together. I can remember that she stayed with Grandma Gegel in the house where Fred lived when he passed away. I would see her when she came to Marissa to see Fred
    and when she came to church. That was four years or more ago since the last time I saw her. May she rest in peace.
