My sympathy to the family. I am so sorry we have lost another wonderful member of our SHS Class of ’67. Glenda was among the top ten honor students in our class, so I always knew she would go on to a successful life, that would benefit others.

Glenda Kay (Kelly) Smith, 73, of Sparta, IL; born on May 10, 1949 in Sparta, IL the daughter of Glendell “Pat” and Elva (Stephenson) Kelly; passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO
Glenda was an avid reader and loved watching movies. She had several different jobs within media which included being a Reporter for the Southern Illinoisian Newspaper, the Director of Educational Software Development for Control Data Corp. in Baltimore, MD, and she was the Director of Electronic Media Development for Williams & Wilkens Medical Publishing in Baltimore, MD. When she wasn’t reading reports or books she loved spending time with friends and her beloved husband, Bob.
She is survived by her loving husband – Robert Smith to whom she married on January 27, 1973 in Sparta, IL; one sister – Kim (Doug) Falkenhein of Sparta, IL; one sister-in-law – Kay Smith.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The visitation will be held at Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Richard McDaniel officiating. Committal Services will take place at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL.
Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL is in charge of arrangements

So sorry to se KK passed away. We were childhood friends. I spent a lot of time growing up with her family. Love you KK. Fly high with the Angels.
