Garrett Phillips Jr, 79, of Sparta, IL, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born on March 25, 1934 in Hurst Bush, IL to Garrett A. Phillips Sr. and Lucille Colp. He married Shirley Luttrell on June 5, 1961 in Jackson County, MO. Garrett was of Protestant Faith. He worked as a rubber cutter at Midwest Rubber Reclaimer in Sauget, IL, and Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his Wife: Shirley Phillips of Sparta, IL; 3 Daughters: Loretta Campbell of Steeleville, IL, Brenda (Virgil) Aaron of Coulterville, IL, and Dawn Phillips of Sparta, IL; 1 Son: Scott Phillips of Sparta, IL; 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 Sisters
