Frances May Wittenborn

WITTENBORN
Frances May Wittenborn, 92, of Sparta, IL; born on August 4, 1928 in Evansville, IL; went to meet the Lord on Thursday, June 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving daughters at Cedarhurst in Sparta, IL.
Frances went to Red Bud High School in Red Bud, IL. She was a member at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta, IL. Frances and her husband were representatives of the Randolph County Democratic Party. She worked as a Driver License Examiner at the Sparta Drivers License Bureau. Frances enjoyed camping, playing games, and dancing. She was an excellent cook and aimed to please everyone. You could not leave her house without a cookie or piece of pie. She loved her children and grandchildren. When it came to playing card or board games Frances made sure to teach them properly by showing them how to win.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Albert and Mabel (Kennedy) Biethman; husband – Gene Wittenborn; daughter – Deb Lehman; brother – Kenneth Biethman; sisters – Betty Fink, Nathalie Phegley, and Mary Walls; son-in-law – Glen Campbell.
Frances is survived by five daughters – Jeanne (Robert) Finley of Sparta, IL, Pam Campbell of Sparta, IL, Cathy (Stan) Hess of Evansville, IL, Laura (Joseph) Deutschmann of Sparta, IL and Becky (Bill) Rhodes of Red Bud, IL; eighteen grandchildren – Clay Finley, Joel Finley, Noah Finley, Sarah Smith, Hannah Finley, Jonathan Finley, Chris Luton, Joe Pickett, Abby Vivas, Jennifer Rheinecker, Brandy Steely, Tom Hess, Angela Craig, Amy Buch, Adam McBride, Clinton McBride, Nicholas Rhodes, and Zachary Rhodes; thirty-two great grandchildren; two brothers – Boniface Biethman of Ruma, IL and Jim (Linda) Biethman of Prairie Du Rocher, IL; sister-in-law – Ricki Biethman of Lenzburg, IL; son-in-law – Donald Lehman of Bartlesville, OK.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Altar Society in Sparta, IL.

Visitation: Family and friends may attend Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. (Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8:30 a.m.)
Funeral: The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Vincent Mukasa officiating
Interment: Burial will be held at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL.
Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL is in charge of arrangements
