MANDRELL

Errol Don Mandrell, 82, of Tilden, IL; born on March 24, 1939 in Crab Orchard, IL the son of Cecil and Wilma (Hankins) Mandrell; passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Errol worked as an electrician for 36 years before retiring.  He was a member of the Sparta Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.  Errol enjoyed woodworking and cooking.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Errol was a well respected member of the Sparta Eagles Club for 54 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister – Colleen Mandrell; two brothers – Laurel Dean Mandrell and Jerry Dale Mandrell.

Errol is survived by his loving wife – Donna (Custer) Mandrell of Tilden, IL to whom he married August 14, 1981 in Paulton, IL; two children – Errol Kip Mandrell of Silverdale, WA and Nikki Meracle of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren – Jessica (Wesley) Engelage, Errol Keith Mandrell, Bryce Meracle, Blake Meracle and Chelsey (Marc) Erlanger; one great granddaughter – Emily Erlanger; one great grandson – Kamryn Engelage.

Graveside services will be held at Tilden Cemetery on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating.
