Elizabeth A. Nadler, 62, of New Athens, IL, born September 30th, 1953 in Belleville, IL, passed away Saturday, August 20th at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Ms. Nadler was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL. Liz worked for almost 23 years at the New Athens Home for the Aged in New Athens. She had worked in the housekeeping department but loved working with the girls in the laundry department where she worked the longest.” She loved to bake; especially pies and her famous sugar cookies.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; Harold A. “Brown Eyes” and Meridene E. (Berthold) Nadler.

Ms. Nadler is survived by her children; Denise (Casey) Gann of Arnold, MO and Derek (Rebecca) Galle of Marissa, 2 grandchildren; Davin and Clayton Galle, 2 brothers; James “Safety” (Linda) Nadler of New Athens, IL and George (Kathy) Nadler of Mancelona, Michigan.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Visitation; Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL with the Rev. Dr. Robert Koch officiating. Private burial will follow at St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lenzburg, IL.

    Liz always had such a good personality and could always put a smile on your face. She was a wonderful mother and I’m sure grandmother. I only know Denise but she definitely is as sweet as her mother. I’ve told Liz before how proud she can be of her family. I’m sure things will be much more lively up there in heaven with her around.
