MORGENTHALER
Elizabeth (Morgan) Morgenthaler, 103, of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Sparta, IL; born on December 19, 1916 in Sparta, IL; passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at home.
Elizabeth loved to play the card game “bridge”. She enjoyed music and was talented when it came to playing the piano. She was a member of the International Music Fraternity called Sigma Alpha Iota.
She was preceded in death by her husband – Robert Carl Morgenthaler, who passed away on October 31, 2011 in St. Peters, MO. Parents – Howe V. and Eve (Bourner) Morgan. Grandson – Rick Sturm.
She is survived by three children – Marcia (Frank) Sturm of Lake St. Louis, MO; Larry (Kay) Morgenthaler of Destin, FL; Stephen (Pam) Morgenthaler of Chesterfield, MO. Six Grandchildren – Steve (Kathy) Sturm of O’Fallon, MO; Daniel (Lara) Morgenthaler of Raleigh, NC; Kelly (Mike) Robb of Wildwood, MO; Brad (Amy) Morgenthaler of Ballwin, MO; Bryan (Tela) Morgenthaler of Ballwin, MO; Kristen (Kevin) Schaller of Ballwin, MO. Fourteen Great Grandchildren. Two Great Great Grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alex Eppstein officiating.
Interment: Burial will be held at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL.
Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL is in charge of arrangements

I just ran across Betty’s obituary. I’m so sorry for your loss. As keeper’s of the family genealogy my parents and I spoke of her periodically. My parents, Dave and Pat Morgan, met Betty years ago and exchanged Christmas cards over the remaining time. Those Morgan genes were hardy! Blessings to the family.
