Dorothy, nee Buesking, Fisher, 94, of Marissa, IL; born December 11, 1918 in Edwardsville, IL; passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL with her family by her side.
Mrs. Fisher was a loving homemaker and also very actively participating in running the family farm. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt, IL. She was a member of L.W.M.L. Dorothy loved gardening and tending to her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Clara, nee Aumann, Buesking. Her husband Frank Fisher whom she married on June 14, 1939 in Perryville, MO and who passed away on June 29, 2002. One sister – Elsie Mattea. One granddaughter – Paula Fulton. One Goddaughter – Joan, nee Westerman, Thornton.
She is survived by one son – Charles Fisher of Marissa, IL. One daughter – Rosemary Fulton of Marissa, IL. Her Grandchildren – John (Carline) Fulton; Valerie (Dale) Metcalf. Her great-grandchildren – Kyle, Jessica, Derek, Becca, Marcus, Macailah, Valen, Amber, Bridget. Her Godchildren – Robert Kirby, Jessica Metcalf.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School.
Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt, IL on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Funeral: Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt, IL on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00am with Rev. John Lukomski officiating.
Interment: Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.
Dorothy was one of the sweetest persons I have ever met~~and that was about 4 years ago. I always looked forward to seeing her at church but my memories of seeing her at the Sparta WalMart are priceless.
