Doreen, nee Wolf, Kohrs, 57, of Sparta, IL; born on December 14, 1962 in Sparta, IL; passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at home.

Doreen was a very hard worker. She was the proud owner of Doreen’s Restaurant in Sparta, IL and dedicated most of her time to making it a great place for people to go and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Keith Kohrs and Father – Charles Wolf.

She is survived by her Mother – P. Clarabel, nee Beetley, Woodside of Pinckneyville, IL. Two Daughters – Jennifer Dawn (Jason) Laut of O’Fallon, IL and Paula (Chuck) Wilson of Tilden, IL. Two Step Daughters – Kenzie Kohrs of Odenton, MD and Kennedy Kohrs of Odenton, MD. Eight Grandchildren – Marcus Thielemann of O’Fallon, IL; Blake Thielemann of O’Fallon, IL; Wesley Thielemann of O’Fallon, IL; Molly Laut of O’Fallon, IL; Logan Laut of O’Fallon, IL; Ian Salinas of Tilden, IL; Hayden Webb of Tilden, IL; Raelynn Wilson of Tilden, IL. Two Brothers – Michael (Suzanne) Appel of San Antonio, TX and Thomas Appel of AZ. One Sister – Melanie (Clarence) Kellerman of Tamarao, IL. Many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation: Friends may call the First Baptist Church in Tilden, IL on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Funeral: Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Tilden, IL on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL.

   I got to know Doreen years ago when we worked together at Coulterville DQ. I considered her a good friend. She will be missed. My sympathies to the family.

   I was blessed to meet and become friends with Doreen in cosmology school. She was a dedicated, loyal, and loving person. I absolutely adored and looked up to her. She was truly a shining light!

   I worked for Doreen for many years in my younger years at both The Royal Fork and Doreens. She was an amazing boss..friend…woman..mother…grandmother and on and on. My heart absolutely breaks heading this news and Paula and Jennifer I’m so deeply sorry

    I’m so sorry for Doreens loved ones, please accept my sympathy. I met her at the restaurant, that was several years ago , I felt immediately that she was a golden soul! Bless her heart, she was sick then, but didn’t complain and was very upbeat and lovely and sweet to me.
