Diane Waldron

WALDRON

Diane Lynn, nee Major, Waldron, 67, of Sparta, IL; born on June 20, 1951 in East St. Louis, IL; passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Mrs. Waldron was an educator and worked in every building of Sparta School District 140.  She was a long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Diane and her husband, Terry, operated the Trap Shooting Hall of Fame Museum.

Diane was a kind soul, who had a gift for plants and all things flora; she had unique talents in the kitchen, preparing food for any occasion or visitor to her home.  She enjoyed her Bunco buddies for well over 30 years.  Diane loved her Tuesday ritual of dinner and pinochle with her husband, brother John and sister-in-law Judy.  She loved pool days with her friends and family, seeing her children sing and perform, and spending the early mornings at the beach in St. Augustine, FL.  Most of all, she loved her husband and children more than anything.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Steve and Margaret Mae, nee Post, Major.  Her father and mother-in-law – Billie R. and Alta Gayl Waldron.

She is survived by her husband – Terry Waldron whom she married on August 13, 1972 in Carbondale, IL.  Her children – Andy (Krista) Waldron of St. Louis, MO.  Emily Waldron of Sparta, IL.  One brother – John (Judy) Major of Carbondale, IL.  One sister – Debbie Reiger-Holzer of Temecula, CA.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Westminster Food Pantry or the Sparta Public Library.
