My sympathy to the family. We are always sorry to see a member of the SHS Class of ’64 pass away as Randy remembers all of his classmates. They were the “Seniors” when I was a Freshman. She certainly had great friends just to name a few from the class: Eris C., Judy B., July B., Judy H., Charlene J., Mike L., Judy McB., Jim P., Bob P., Roxy R., Rosalie R., Mary Ann W., Susan W., Jim T., Ruby M., Sammy McD., Tom C,, Pam G, and Marc Anthony.

SMITH
Diane Sue “Tootie” Smith, 76, of Tilden, IL; born on April 8, 1946 in Sparta, IL; passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Sparta Community Hospital.
Diane was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta. She worked at World Color Press for 33 years and Spartan Light Metal for 10 years before retiring. Diane enjoyed playing softball, fishing, and golfing. She also liked to play different card games with her friends. Diane had several great friends and loved her White Oak Golf Course family. She was known for being a great host and everyone had a blast at her Halloween parties. Diane always prepared big meals for her guests and made them feel at home.
Diane is survived by one sister – Julia Nell Lamb of Marissa, IL; four nephews – Alan (Cheryl) Smith & Family of Sparta, IL, Robert (Patty) Lamb & Family of Bridgeton, MO, Gary (Barbara) Lamb & Family of Overland, MO, and John William (LuAnn) Smith & Family of St. Louis County, MO; two nieces – Laura (Chuck) Defarkas & Family of Kearney, MO and Alicia (Dale) Jansen & Family of Sparta, IL; close friends of the family – Chloe Gower and Vicki Kirkpatrick; beloved pet dog, Ruby; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Ben and Grace (Martin) Smith; two brothers – Thomas G. Smith and Billy Gene Smith; brother-in-law – Stanley Lamb; sister-in-law – Patricia Lou Smith.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cancer Care of Illinois.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Tilden from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating. Committal services will be held at Tilden Cemetery.
Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Tilden, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
