David L. Schmersahl, 66, of Lenzburg, IL, born December 31, 1956, Red Bud, IL, passed away on Sunday July 30, 2023, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL.  Mr. Schmersahl worked in the Public Works Department for Lively Grove Township.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Raymond and Vernice (Lehr) Schmersahl.

David is survived by his wife – NoraJean (Hummert) Schmersahl of Belleville, IL, three children – Regina Schmersahl of Belleville, IL, Lisa (Robert) Bruner of OK, and Kelinda Schmersahl of Belleville, IL, four grandchildren – Savannah, Angel, Riley and Robert Jr. and one gr. grandson – Ezra.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday August 4, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday August 4, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL with Fr. Christopher Anyanwu officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery across from the church.
