Dale C. Triefenbach

Dale C. Triefenbach, 80, of St. Libory, IL, born July 2, 1943, in Belleville, IL, passed away on Tuesday April 16, 2024, at Memorial East Hospital in Shiloh, IL. He worked as welder with Peabody Coal Company.  He was also a car and motorcycle enthusiast and had owned and operated ACP Metal Cleaning in Millstadt, IL.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents – Harpel and Irene (Sinn) Triefenbach and by his sister and brother – Sharon Price and Merle “Fat Kat” Triefenbach.

Surviving him are his wife – the former Janet L. Clendenny, whom he married on May 13, 1967, three children – Dale “Rob” Triefenbach of Pelahatchie, MS, Kristina (Clay) Adam of St. Charles, MO and Traci (Joel) Colvis of Smithton, IL, seven grandchildren – Kyle, Adam, Megan, Matthew, Morgan, Ella and Alison, one gr. grandson – Rhett, and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation:  9 – 11 a.m. on Friday April 26, 2024, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Friday April 26, 2024, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL with Rev. Tarrah Vaupel officiating.  Burial will follow at Darmstadt Memorial Cemetery in Darmstadt, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

    My sympathy to the family. I was sorry when Sharon and Merle passed. Merle was in the MTHS Class of ’67 and that was a fun time in all of our lives.

    No words can express how much we will miss our brother in law Dale. This past year, he took care of our sister Janet following a tragic stroke. He took his wedding vow of “in sickness and in health” seriously! Thank you Dale for nursing her back to health the best you knew how. If he didn’t know how to do something, he had his daughters behind him especially Traci
    That was awesome! Rest in peace brother. Until we meet again!
