My sympathy to Corine’s family. She was always such a sweet person. Glad I got to see and talk at her again at New Athens Nursing Home, when she and my Mom, Dorothy, were both there.

Mrs. Corine M. Albert, nee Reinhardt, 102, of New Athens, IL, born July 6, 1920, passed away Tuesday December 13, 2022, at the Freeburg Care Center. Corine was a homemaker and a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens. She loved being with her family, doing arts and crafts, gardening and just being outdoors. A life-long learner, she was proud to have earned her GED.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Clara (Hager) Reinhardt, her husband, LeRoy L. Albert, whom she married on July 20, 1940, in New Athens, and who preceded her in death on January 5, 1971, as well as her eldest son Roy L. Albert (Tammy) on January 20, 2021. Her four sisters, Ruth Schlueter, Esther Lischer, Olinda Nuernberger and Doris Lischer also preceded her in death.
Corine is survived by her three children, Judy (Jack) Ficks of Glen Ellyn, IL, David Albert of New Athens, IL, and Larry (Nancy) Albert of Aledo, TX, as well as her daughter-in-law Tammy Nugent Albert of New Athens, IL. She has five grandchildren, Dan Albert, Brian Albert, Ben Albert, John Michael Albert, and Jennifer Tolson (Brian Johnsey) as well as three great grandsons, Owen, Layden, and Draven.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Freeburg Care Center, with a special thanks to Diana Kunkelmann.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens.
Visitation: Friends and family will be gathering from 9 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday December 17, 2022, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL.
Funeral: Services will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday December 17, 2022, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL with Rev. Dr. Robert Koch officiating. A private committal service will be held later at Valhalla Gardens in Belleville, IL.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
