Clement Orlin Wiley, 81, of Sparta, IL; born on April 20, 1942 in Sparta, IL, the son of Vernon Orlin and Ruth Madelyn (Craig) Wiley; passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Coulterville Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Clement worked at Baldwin Power Plant for 30 years before retiring. Clement was a machinist that could make just about anything.  He was an artist in many ways, especially when it came to playing the guitar.  Clement loved country and gospel music.  He always had a song and smile, playing at numerous events with many different artists.  Clement also enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

He is survived by four children – Lori (Michael) McIntosh of Sparta, IL, Tracy (Warren) Fehrenz of Sparta, IL, Amy (Grant) Barton of Coulterville, IL, and Justin (Marie) Wiley of Carbondale, IL; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother – Michael (Ann) Wiley of Marissa, IL.

Clement was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Yvonne Gill.

The Visitation will be held at Steeleville Baptist Church, 1315 West Shawneetwon Trail, Steeleville, IL on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jared Pemper officiating.  Committal Services will take place at Union Cemetery in Sparta, IL.

    My deepest condolences to all. Clem and I were good friends back in our teen years. Used to work on engines play guitar together and just hang out. Clem always reminded me of Johnny Cash when he sang. That was many years ago and I only wish I could have seen him again.
