Charles Knewitz, 83, of Freeburg, IL, formerly of New Athens, IL, born December 26, 1942, in Belleville, IL, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Daniel and Marguerite (Boeker) Knewitz.  Two sisters – Frances Axley, Janet Knewitz and a sister-in-law – Carol Knewitz.

Charles is survived by one brother – Daniel Knewitz of Florissant, MO.  A cousin – Barbara Knewitz of New Athens, IL and 6 nieces and nephews – Beth, Jennifer, James, Ryan, Rachel and Ehren.
